Movement Coach, Royston

Body Control Pilates® • Franklin Method® • Personal Training

What I do and offer․․․

I help groups, individuals and children aged 11+ understand, notice and experience how to move comfortably and efficiently. I help them discover any unhelpful movement habits they may have that could be causing problems and using a blend of methods from over 25 years of teaching experience, I help them to change.

Tailor-made for Pilates Education organisations and centres, businesses, hospitals, sports clubs, schools, and retreats.

For current workshops and masterclasses please view my Instagram.

1-2 Hour sessions where after listening carefully, I analyse the factors causing you problems. I explain your body’s design and, using equipment from my garden studio, show you how your movement habits may be working against this. I then develop a bespoke training plan for you.

As a former Matwork Teacher Trainer and current supervising teacher for Body Control Pilates®, I enjoy creating varied bespoke content for all the different bodies in my classes.

For current class information please view my Instagram.

Is an exercise method based on the work of Joseph Pilates, which relies upon strengthening core postural muscles developing dynamic body alignment. It avoids muscle and ligament damage sometimes associated with fitness regimes. It can be taught as matwork or using resistance machines (I have a garden studio housing a CoreAlign Machine, Wundachair and Springboard).

Uses Dynamic Neuro-Cognitive Imagery, anatomical embodiment and educational skills to create lasting positive change in your body and mind. The Franklin Method® was founded by Eric Franklin in 1994 and is taught all over the world.

I am a level 3 Educator.

As a qualified personal trainer I can draw on training techniques to help you create realistic fitness goals whilst implementing a safe and effective exercise programme reducing risk of injury or injury re-occurance. I also liaise with sports coaches/trainers in an advisory capacity.

My teaching ethos

Experience in multiple disciplines (Body Control Pilates®, Franklin Method® and Personal Training) means I can tailor-make sessions for your body that achieve results. My aims are:

1.

Bespoke sessions

To tailor each session to my client’s individual needs.

2.

Understand & control

To demystify the body so that my clients can understand their own bodies and take control by building their own practice.

3.

Breathing

To incorporate the art of breathing. Using a wide array of breathing techniques to assist in activating a deep level of change.

4.

Communication

To engage in clear communication and understand how different people hear/learn in different ways and adapt my teaching accordingly.

5.

Enjoyable

To make it enjoyable and not take it all too seriously! Movement education is a journey and it should feel fun.

6.

Self learning

To commit fully to my own practice. Investing time in my own continued training and practice means I can keep learning and evolving.
